Snow Emergency Declared in Media Borough
Media Borough Mayor, Joi Washington, has declared a snow emergency beginning Saturday night 11:59PM going to Monday at 5:00PM pursuant to § 291-49 of the Borough Code, in order to mitigate the hazards of snow and ice along designated snow emergency routes.
As a result, Borough Administrative Offices are CLOSED on Monday, January 26, 2026, and there is NO trash or recycling collection that day.
Parking restrictions are in effect along the following designated streets:
- Franklin Street - From Gayley Street to Jackson Street, the south side only
- Franklin Street - From Jackson Street to Olive Street, the north side only
- Front Street - From Monroe Street to Providence Road, the north side only
- Front Street - From Orange Street to Monroe Street, the south side only
- Jefferson Street - From Lemon Street to the cul-de-sac, the west side only
- Monroe Street - From South of 6th Street to Jefferson Street. West side only in between Franklin Street and Jefferson Street
- Orange Street - Entire length
- Plum Street - From Franklin Street to Jefferson Street
- Providence Road - Entire length
- State Street - Entire length
- Taylor Street - Entire length
- Veterans Square - From Baltimore Avenue to Front Street
If you reside on a designated snow emergency route, you are urged to park at the Baltimore Avenue Parking Garage on the 1st or 2nd level. Parking fees will not be enforced during the emergency declaration. If you do not live on a snow emergency route, residents are still encouraged to move their vehicles off the street to allow for emergency vehicles and the snowplows.
