The Corn Hill Arts Festival Unveils the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Poster

The Corn Hill Neighbors Association and ESL Federal Credit Union are excited to announce that earlier today the 2018 commemorative poster, which celebrates the 50th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival, was unveiled. Bill Kelly, Festival Chair; Jeff Rodgers, President of the Corn Hill Neighbors Association; Faheem Masood, President and CEO of ESL Federal Credit Union; and James Smith, Communications Director for the City of Rochester, led the unveiling ceremony at the Hervey Ely House. This is the fifth consecutive year that ESL, a locally owned financial institution has supported the Festival as the presenting sponsor.

“We were thrilled to unveil the 50th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival poster this afternoon,” said Bill Kelly, 2018 Corn Hill Arts Festival Chairperson. “The poster represents the spirit of our community and the important role it has played in revitalizing Rochester. We are proud of our neighbors and this significant milestone.”

This year’s poster design was created by Ron Brancato, an experienced graphic designer and illustrator. His design highlights the historic Corn Hill architecture and includes subtle hints that uniquely celebrate the Festival marking 50 years this summer.

“My inspiration for this year’s 50th anniversary poster came from my admiration of the Corn Hill architecture and how it is nestled against downtown Rochester, “Brancato explained. “I also chose colors that capture the beauty and diversity of the neighborhood.”

The commissioned artwork will become the iconic image that is featured on the annual poster, clothing, and other festival merchandise.

“This year’s 50th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Corn Hill Arts Festival is an important way to acknowledge the history and purpose of this treasured event in our community,” said Faheem Masood, President/CEO, ESL Federal Credit Union. “Each year as we unveil the newest festival poster, it represents a celebration, told through art, about the coming together of a community to preserve a vital and indispensable Rochester neighborhood. For the 50th anniversary, this year’s poster perfectly captures the atmosphere and color we see throughout the Corn Hill neighborhood during the festival. It is truly an honor for ESL to be a part of this celebration.”

The poster unveiling also marked the start of the Corn Hill Arts Festival Poster Sweepstakes. From today through the conclusion of the festival, ESL challenges you to visit your local ESL branch or go online and try your hand at matching six past posters with the correct festival decade. Each of the 21 branch locations will be offering participants the opportunity to win a signed 2018 poster and a $50 Visa gift card.
